EXCURSION ALONG THE RIVER CALLED "STELLA": Visit to the oasis of the W.W.F. Stop at a fishing hut called "casone". The lagoon of Marano Lagunare is geographically situated in the most north side of the entire Mediterranean Sea. Of the whole 9500 hectares, 1423 form today the nature reserve and oasis of Marano Lagunare. This wildlife park is protected by the W.W.F. since 1976 and its heart is located at the mouth of the "Stella" river. The excursion includes a stop at a typical "casone". These unusual houses were handed on from father to son and today are one of the last examples in whole the national territory.
Before your return it will be a moment of fun and happyness with the guitars of Adriano "da Geremia".

MARANO LAGUNARE: a characteristic fishing village, in ancient times a Venetian fortress. A beautiful stop at the shelly island. From 1420 to 1797 the village was a Venetian fortress belonging to the Serenissima as it shows its architectural construction. Here you can admire the millenary bell tower, the beautiful main square, the narrow streets called "calli" and the church, built in 1753.
Very interesting are also the fish-market and the fisherboats fleet, one of the biggest of the region.On the way back is scheduled a stop at the shelly island. It's a natural barrier between the lagoon and the open sea. Here you can admire the wild beach, where many kinds of aquatic-birds come to nest.
